It is with a sense of melancholy that I wrap up AEP Open Enrollment for 2024.  I can honestly say I have worked harder this past 7 weeks than ever before.  Actually when I packed boxes for Amazon during the pandemic, I worked hard physically, but that was different.  I am pleased to have added many new clients to my book of business this year and pledge to take good care of them moving forward.

Now what?  That’s the big question people like to ask me.  Do I get to goof off until next AEP?  Ha ha.  I wish!!!  Most people don’t know that January through March is a special open enrollment period, called OEP.  It is for anyone who is on an Advantage Plan – they get one chance to make a change to a different plan.  So I’ll be still working pretty hard during that period.

Also, I’m excited to be a part of the UPMC Medicare family who, once again, has earned a 5-star rating.  Because of this, I can sign people up for their Advantage Plans all year long.  And they are good plans.

So I don’t get to goof off, but certainly, work will be less stressful now.  Time to play with my puppy more, get more exercise and get back to my healthy eating.  Time to make some trips to visit my parents.  My mom is in upstate NY and my dad and his wife are in North Carolina.  They are in the process of moving into a senior community that will offer assistance as he needs more care due to his Parkinson’s.  I’ll go visit them in their new home and help them get settled.
